Perpetuating Hawaiian culture and the arts is an important part of our mission. Royal Hawaiian Center offers ongoing complimentary Hawaii cultural enrichment programs from Monday through Friday. Please join us and learn about the arts of Hawaiian quilting, lomilomi massage and healing, ukulele playing, hula dancing, lei-making, and kapa cloth making.

Monday

11 a.m. – noon
Lomilomi Massage - Learn the basics of Hawaiian massage and healing traditions with Piilani Wright from Moku Ola Hawaiian Healing.
Location: Ground level, Hale Illi (“Bark House” - Building A), near Fendi.

Tuesday

9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Hawaiian Quilting - Learn the traditions of kapa kuiki (quilting) with Charlotte Cathcart.
Location: 3rd level bridge, Hale Illi (“Bark House” - Building A), near Chibo Okonomiyaki Restaurant.

10 – 11 a.m.
Ukulele - Learn to play Hawaii’s favorite instrument with Wainani Kanealii Yim. Seats limited to 25 guests.
Location: Paina Lanai (2nd Floor Building B)

11 a.m. – noon
Hula - Learn basic hula gestures and footwork, with Puakeala Mann.
Location: The Royal Grove

6 - 7 p.m
Kani ka pila- Enjoy Hawaiian music and hula by Kawika Trask and Friends.   
Location: The Royal Grove

Wednesday

10 – 11 a.m.
Ukulele - Learn to play Hawaii’s favorite instrument with Puakeala Mann. Seats limited to 25 guests.
Location: Ground level, Hale Illi (“Bark House” - Building A), near Fendi.

11 a.m. – noon

Polynesian Cultural Center performance - Polynesian Cultural Center performs at the Royal Grove.

4 – 5 p.m.
Hula - Learn basic hula gestures and footwork with Puakeala Mann.

6 – 7 p.m.
Kani ka pila - Enjoy Hawaiian Music and Hula by Pu'uhonua.

Friday

10 – 11 a.m.

1 – 2 p.m.
Lei Making - Have fun stringing flowers in to lei as Naomi Braine teaches the art of "kui" (stringing style of lei making).

6 – 7:30 p.m.
Kani ka pila - Enjoy Hawaiian Music and Hula by Ku'uipo Kumukahi.

Saturday

Polynesian Cultural Center performance - Polynesian Cultural Center performs at the Royal Grove.

Ulana Lau Niu - Coconut leaf weaving demonstration.
Location: The Royal Grove

Monthly Events
Royal Hawaiian Band in Concert: On the first Wednesday of each month from 1 ­– 1:45 p.m. in The Royal Grove, the historic Royal Hawaiian Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Michael Nakasone, will perform Hawaiian and other classics featuring solo vocalists and hula dancers.
